Have you ever wondered how many personal branding images you need to get visible and seen by your audience? I’m here to tell you 30 is the number of images you need to get started.

You might be thinking, “30 photos?! That’s a lot!” Or maybe you said to yourself, ‘No way, that’s not enough!” Fair points, but let me explain why I think 30 is the magic number!

Firstly, having 30 personal branding images means you can use one image a week for 6 months straight. That’s half a year of consistent content that showcases your unique personality, style, and expertise. And as we all know, consistency is key when it comes to building a strong personal brand. Having a variety of images to choose from keeps your online presence fresh and engaging.

Now you might be thinking that one image a week is not enough to be considered consistent. But one image that is on brand and used strategically every week can actually be better than posting random daily content that doesn’t have any purpose. And when you combine that one professional image per week with other planned content, such as stories, graphics, testimonials, videos/reels and product/service examples you’ll find having 30 professional personal branding images makes a whole lot more sense.

Secondly, having 30 images also means in addition to 6 months of weekly content, you have enough professional profile photos for your social media as well as your website. We all know profile photos are not equal when it comes to different platforms (and if you didn’t know this is definitely something to think about!). What suits LinkedIn isn’t always the best for Instagram. And the perfect headshot image for FB might not be the look you want on the About You Page on your website.

And even better, after 6 months, you can reuse those 30 images again. This is because your new followers haven’t seen them yet, and even your existing audience won’t remember all the images you posted 6 months ago. Repurposing content is a great way to save time and keep your personal brand consistent.

My third and final reason, is that 30 images is a great starting point, enough to give you months of consistent branding but not too many that you feel so overwhelmed you don’t do anything with them. There’s no point investing in a personal branding photo session only for the images to sit, unused, on a hard drive somewhere. And if you do need some help getting your 30 images out there, don’t worry I have you covered. A Personal Branding Photo Session with me also includes a ticket to one of my Content Workshops!

Now, you might be wondering what kind of personal branding images you need, so I’ve listed some examples below.

  1. Professional headshots: This is a must-have for any professional. You want to make sure you have a few high-quality, well-lit photos of yourself that you can use across your social media platforms and website.
  2. Lifestyle shots: These are images that showcase your personality and style. They could be photos of you working at your desk, reading in a comfy chair or practicing your yoga moves. The key is to show your audience a glimpse of your life outside of work.
  3. Product shots: If you have a product or service you offer, make sure you have some images that showcase it. These could be photos of your product in use or images of your service in action.
  4. Behind-the-scenes shots: These are images that give your audience a behind-the-scenes look at your business. They could be photos of you preparing for a presentation or setting up for a photoshoot.

Remember, the goal of personal branding images is to showcase your unique personality, style, and expertise. Don’t be afraid to get creative and have fun with it!  Of course when you work with me we do this together, and I already have a comprehensive shoot list to get us started. And guess what! My most popular Personal Branding Session includes 30 images.

So there you have it, 30 personal branding images is the perfect number to get you visible and seen by your audience. With 6 months of consistent content, a few left over for profile photos, and the ability to reuse them, you’ll be well on your way to building a strong personal brand.
