When it comes to Personal Branding and Headshot Photos the word ‘studio’ can conjure up images of a cold, empty uninviting space with harsh, artificial lighting and formal posing.

Of course for those of you who have been inside my studio you know it’s nothing like that. It’s quite the opposite in fact.

My photography studio is filled with soft, natural light flooding in through the windows, a living plant or two (sometimes more thanks to hubby’s indoor plant business) and of course my favourite armchair inviting you to take a seat!

From the moment you walk in the door you will feel welcome and at ease. If you’ve chosen to have your makeup professionally done my artist will be waiting to pamper you in our dressing area. There’s a private powder room, full length mirror and hanging space for your outfits.

Tea, coffee and water are readily available and I’m here to help you every step of the way. The most important thing is for you to enjoy your time here and walk away feeling relaxed and confident.

And of course get the best photos of you we possibly can.

That’s why my studio has been designed with you in mind. I have a few standard setups ready to go, and then for each individual photo shoot we incorporate your artwork, props and personality to create a space that showcases you.

Your photos can show you at a desk in your own office chair, a therapy room with your massage table, simulate a workshop complete with trestle tables, an artist’s studio with your easel and tools plus so much more. You’re limited only by your imagination and what you can carry!

There’s a blank wall for headshots with no background, pointing shots and other fun images. We can use coloured backdrops if that suits your style. There’s hooks to hang a print, painting, photos or your own artwork.

Of course, fabulous as it is, I do leave my studio now and then, and can come to you if that’s what you prefer so let’s talk about other locations for a moment.

If you’d like to have your photo session in your home or workplace consider the following questions –

  • Is the environment consistent with your branding style and how you want your images to look?
  • Is there much light? Are the walls dark? Is there a lot of clutter?
  • Will you have to do a huge clean up that morning leaving you too tired and frazzled to enjoy your photo shoot?
  • Will there be enough spaces to give you a variety of images?
  • Is there somewhere for the makeup artist (if you’re having one)?
  • Will there be other people there who may cause disruption or delays?

After taking your answers into account you might just find that my studio is a much better option to get you the results you want.

At the end of the day my studio is all about creating a comfortable and inviting space where you can truly showcase your talents and personality.
