Do I Have to Be on Video to Grow My Business Online?

Short answer: yes!
Longer answer: yes it helps your audience trust you and get to know you.

Video is a just another tool we need to learn to use effectively. It helps people:
• recognise you
• hear your voice
• build trust faster

But that doesn’t have to involve daily reels or high energy performances.

What video can look like (without pressure)

• short, calm talking clips
• behind the scenes moments
• still photos with voiceover

You don’t need to dance, perform or overshare.

How to keep your videos simple

Answer just one question or talk about one point in each video. You can read the question and then just speak into the camera to answer it. Alternatively you could use a B-roll video and do voiceover (it’s not as complicated as it sounds!).

If you struggle talking to the camera, ask a friend to hold the camera and ask the question and then answer as if you’re talking to them. I also offer sessions in my studio (or I can come to you) where we get this done. Just last week a client and I smashed out 60 short videos in 60 minutes. That’s more than one video a week. And she wasn’t confident on camera either.

Record every day moments

When you’re working at home set up the phone on a tripod, or balanced against a box or some books, and record yourself doing housework or working. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just moments out of your day. Use your behind the scenes video (also known as B-roll) to create a reel, pop some text over the top or do voice over with you saying something relevant to your followers.
